Fire_Beetle,
I have a '63' single cab that's been in storage for almost 6 years that I'm looking to bring back to life. She was a daily driver prior to putting her in storage with the engine rebuilt about a year prior to her storage days, solid with about 6K miles on it. I'm hoping it's a standard tune-up with a few minor tweeks to get her going again...Any chance you are available next week to help out?

thanks!!!
in my experience working on air cooled vw I found that normally people are on the right track on keeping up with their vw maintenance but almost everyone ignores or are afraid of setting the correct gap on the valves, it's very simple to do and will avoid your engine to die prematurely specially with the Texas summer heat, so take a look at this video that's from the old days that explains the importance on why to adjust you valves and HOW TO ADJUST THE VALVES, enjoy :)
